About Ashtanga YogaAshtanga Yoga is a dynamic and challenging sequence of postures that flow one after the other, much like a dance. Pattabhi JoisAshtanga Yoga has been taught for the last 70 years by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, an internationally known and respected yoga master based in Mysore, India. Mysore style classesMysore style classes are a form of practice unique within the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, as taught by Pattabhi Jois. Each student receives individual instruction, practices at their own pace, and develops a practice that suits his or her own needs. The teacher's role is that of facilitator, helping each student via verbal and physical adjustments. The Mysore approach allows the student the benefit of an individually-adapted practice while benefiting from the energy and support of the group setting. This method of teaching is for both experienced practitioners and those new to yoga. Everyone is welcome and has a place in Mysore classes. Led Primary SeriesPractitioners move at the same pace, and the class is guided by the teacher. Attention is paid to precision in terms of breath and movement. Most of all it's lots of fun!!! If you have experience with Ashtanga Yoga's Primary Series this is a fun class to join. |
